INTERSECTION DANCE TEAM

Arts Avenue’s Intersection Dance Team is an elite competitive dance program developed for the dancer who desires more intensive dance training. Composed of five levels, the Intersection Dance Team is focused on technical training for both concert performances and competitions. IDT dancers are expected to be disciplined, hardworking, ethical, and versatile performers.

Intersection Dance Team members audition in the spring, begin training in the summer, and are placed in levels for fall training. In the fall semester, the Intersection Dance Team will perform an original contemporary ballet production for a concert experience. Dancers will also have the opportunity to attend the Tremaine Dance Convention, and the Dance Revolution Conference in the fall. In the spring semester, the Intersection Dance Team will compete in multiple dance competitions; 3 mandatory, and 3 optional. Should the team qualify, we may also attend a competition at the National level towards the end of the season. The Intersection Dance Team will also have additional performance opportunities at events such as the Georgetown Christmas Stroll and the Poppy Festival. Arts Avenue strives to produce students that are talented in the arts, but also great people. For this reason, IDT members perform, serve, and volunteer at numerous charity opportunities over the course of the year.

Our studio is proud to offer a competitive culture that cultivates positivity, success, and growth in every dancer each season. For this reason, our team stays small. It is our belief that we can provide true mentorship and quality training with a smaller team.
